| Abstract | This paper contains five chapters. In the first chapter, the problems arising in comprising civilizations will be debated. The second chapter is dedicated to the project of Piaget who has developed a new paradigm for combining the generalizing and singularizing issues of cultures. Subsequently in the chapters three and four the conceptions of Burckhardt and Nida-Rmelin will be presented in comparison. The matter in question is what is the definition of a culture or a civil society. The special issue of democracy is taken up with an intensified analysis. Chapter five is obliged to Danto in terms of debating his research on the differences between the civilizations of Hinduism, Taoism and Confucianism. (edited) |
