| Abstract | The article provides information on the significance of George Herbert Mead's philosophies in relation to Chinese philosophy. It notes the importance of Mead's theory of the social self to Daoist views of human situatedness and ren, which is a Confucian ideal. Mead's concept of the self is also discussed along with details about his social behaviorism and elements of ren. Moreover, it presents morality in the context of Mead and Confucianism. |
